Guns, Grief and Grace in America

New Moon Productions presents an in-depth look at gun violence in the United States, viewed through the diverse lenses of local, state and national communities. The documentaries are complementary, addressing different aspects of complex beliefs, emotions and actions.

All are intended to facilitate non polarized community dialog and elicit a response of active participation in solutions to the dilemma. This encompassing media approach is inspiring audiences to further develop their individual and collective voice on gun violence, as well as other critical social topics.

Experience a wide range of perspectives on the impact of gun violence in our communities. This user-friendly DVD features discussion clips, ranging from 3 to 12 minutes, to generate non-polarized dialog among diverse community audiences.

Guns, Grief and Grace in America presents an in-depth look at gun violence in America, viewed through the diverse lens of local, state and national communities.

Its goal: to expand the framework for discussion of gun violence from one of singularly 2nd Amendment to one inclusive of PUBLIC HEALTH.

  • Reframe gun violence from a 2nd Amendment/crime issue to a public health issue
  • Avoid political impasses by looking at the problem differently together
  • Establish local and state networks
  • Learn to use film as a non-polarized community convener

Designed with focus groups of classroom teachers, social workers and librarians to aid understanding and promote critical thinking and discussion around the complex impact of gun violence on today's youth.
